The Dutch started trade with Zamorin of Kozhikode after Vasco da Gama landed at Kappad beach in Kozhikode in 1498

Kerala is now famous as a unique state in India on account of the highest literacy rate and very high human development indices in the state. As a tourism destination also Kerala has achieved lot of fame within the country and abroad on account of the lush greenery, backwaters, beaches and detoxification treatments. Malayalam is the language of Kerala. The people of Kerala are called Malayalis.

Kerala has wet tropical climate and has two rainy seasons.

COCHIN

The queen of the Arabian sea, the city of Cochin is the commercial capital of Kerala and the largest urban conglomeration of Kerala. Cochin is a vibrant city that has a mix of history, tradition and progress.

Fort Kochi was under Portuguese, Dutch and British control from the 15th Century till India gained Independence. Remnants of the european colonization are well preserved in Fort Cochin.

Cochin has tropical monsoon climate. The city has two major railway stations, international airport and is well connected by highways.
